These devices are compatible with our software

In general, Realitiq can be used as a web application on all devices (PC, tablet, smartphone). However, especially when it comes to our smartphone scan for 3D objects, 360° images, or photos & videos, the question arises as to which recording devices are suitable.

From smartphone to 3D model
Devices for your 3D scan

To scan a room directly from a smartphone into a 3D model, you need a device with an integrated LiDAR sensor. Currently, these are primarily Apple devices:

  • iPhone 12 – 16 Pro
  • iPad Pro (since 2020)

For newer Apple smartphones, LiDAR scanners are only included in the Pro models; the same applies to iPads released since 2020.

Currently, only a few Android devices are equipped with LiDAR technology. Most devices with LiDAR sensors are iPhones and iPads. Unfortunately, Samsung and other manufacturers do not use this technology in their newer models.

Devices for 360° recordings

360° photos are possible with all iOS smartphones thanks to our app. To ensure perfectly straight shots, a rotating tripod like the DJI Osmo Mobile can be useful. We are also compatible with all popular 360° cameras, such as:

  • Ricoh Theta
  • Insta360
  • DJI Osmo 360

Most of these cameras require a dedicated smartphone app to capture the 360° images. The images can then be uploaded to Realitiq and used for 360° tours.

Devices & file formats for video recording

Smartphone videos can be recorded directly through our app or, alternatively, using the smartphone camera. It’s also possible to create recordings with professional video equipment. Whether you use your own video camera, such as a DJI Osmo or GoPro, or cameras from any manufacturer, including Nikon, Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, Leica, and others.

As a pro tip for more stable footage, we recommend using an image stabilizer, such as the DJI Osmo Mobile for smartphones or the DJI Ronin stabilizer for professional cameras.

Drone footage is also possible.

The following video formats are supported and can be edited directly in Realitiq:

  • .mp4
  • .mov
  • .avi

Even with smartphones, you can take photos directly through our iOS app. Images can even be created during the LiDAR scan. Alternatively, you can use your smartphone’s camera app or opt for professional camera equipment from brands like Nikon, Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, Leica, and others. We particularly recommend a high-quality wide-angle lens with a large aperture.

You can then edit the images directly using our photo enhancement tool. We support the following formats:

  • .jpeg
  • .png
  • .heic
