Innovative new features for 3D models
Our highlights from the editor
Our digital twin editor has seen significant changes over the past 12 months – so much so that we could write endlessly about them. However, our team has agreed on the four biggest highlights, which we’d like to briefly introduce.
View-only & Limited View
Since the first quarter of 2025, developers and real estate agents have had two different modes available for sharing 3D models with potential buyers via a link. In View-only mode, as the name suggests, potential buyers can only view the digital twin, while in Limited View, basic editing is possible, such as changing the flooring or wall texture. To make these two modes even more flexible, individually customizable link settings have been available since Q3, allowing users to completely hide certain features, such as dimensions or sunlight simulation, from potential buyers.
First-Person View
Also new and improved is the first-person view, which allows you to immersively explore the digital twin – on any device. The improved controls introduced in Q3 offer complete flexibility: whether using a mouse or touchscreen, classic video game-inspired WASD keys, or arrow keys – the options for moving and rotating within the space are tailored to every preference. To prevent potential buyers from getting lost in the property, there’s also a new minimap with a marked current position, allowing you to jump from room to room.
2D & 3D Enhancements
Every property is unique and therefore complex, which is why we’ve expanded the editor’s capabilities this year. Multi-selection, for example, for multiple walls, rooms, room elements, or furnishings, significantly simplifies editing. Since mid-year, wall textures can be selected separately for each side, and floor textures like parquet can be rotated and displayed at a 45° angle. Attic apartments are no longer a problem with 2025, thanks to sloping walls, roofs, and dormers. And by the end of the year, baseboards for the rooms will also be available.
Indoor Sunlight Visualization
What was already available outdoors thanks to our cooperation with Shadowmap is now also possible indoors, directly within the 3D model: Visualizing the incidence of light through windows at any time of day, any day of the year. This depends on the compass rose setting in the model. This function allows prospective buyers to visualize the light entering a property, whether in helicopter view or first-person mode.
